Are The Neighbors Better Off? New Construction Homes At 1621 South Bayshore Drive
In 2012 the property at 1621 South Bayshore Drive was mired in controversy. A local educator had the home under contract with hopes to open a small Montessori school. Understandably, the neighbors in the immediate area were very nervous about the traffic and noise that the school would create. They were also concerned about the impact the school would have on their property values. Due to the overwhelming response from the community, the plans were scratched. The 33,275 square foot lot later sold to a developer for $1,250,000.
Now, more than a year later, we are starting to see some activity on the property. Two of the homes that will be built on the site have come on the MLS at a list price of $2,295,000. The properties (1619 South Bayshore and 1621 South Bayshore Drive) will offer 5,417 square feet of living space on 9,000 square foot lots. Some of the special features of these homes will be a large open chefs kitchen, gas cook-top stove, double oven, wine cooler, large covered terrace and pool surrounded by lush landscaping. In keeping with current buyer demand, the homes will be built in a modern style with an open floor-plan. The homes are listed by The Complete Homebuying Center.
I am anticipating that more homes will be built on the site given the fact that these two only comprise half of the lot that was purchased.
