The Ultimate Tree Lover In Coconut Grove

The Miami Herald

If you live in Coconut Grove the odds are that you or one of your neighbors is a tree fanatic.  Over the years, residents of the Grove have staged moonlight vigils, campaigns and protests all in the name of protecting our lush tree canopy.

One resident who is selling her home on Kiaora Street in the South Grove cares so much about the trees she planted over 25 years ago that she is donating them to Fairchild Gardens.  Some of these native hardwood hammock trees are over 50 feet tall and will be relocated to Fairchild’s new Art Center.

I have to say that I have never seen “trees” on the exclusion list of a sales contract before, but if there ever was a place to see it… would be Coconut Grove.

The home is listed by One Sotheby’s.  To read more about this story in The Miami Herald, click here.
