Coconut Grove Sellers: Name Your Price!

Zillow (the website that attempts to place a value on your home based on tax records, but isPeople frequently way off the mark) recently launched a new feature called “Make Me Move”. It allows sellers to put their house on the market for a “make me move” price, without actually placing their home with a broker. Zillow states that you should “think about a price that would make you hand over the keys to your house”. It is a cross between a For Sale By Owner and a Pocket Listing.

After taking a look at many of the properties on the site, they are completely unrealistic about their prices. I can’t blame them though. If someone told me that they wanted to buy my house and asked me to name a price for them, I would suggest a really high price too. Why not? I have nothing to lose, I’m not interested in selling unless someone pays me more than what my house is worth.

Check out the site, it’s fun to look around on. Just don’t count on finding many buyers for your home. There is so much inventory on the market right now, and so many good deals that people don’t need to go to sites like this to do their searches.
